Jose ”Chico” Perez has been working with dogs since 1976. He has participated in the German sport of Shutzhund,  French Ringsport, and Holland KNPV. He bred Dobermans in the 1980’s and Belgian Malinois in the 1990’s.  In 1988 he did personal dog training.

He started his guard dog business in 1991. He is the sole owner of BrowardK9/MiamiK9 Services Inc. Starting small, he was able to build his business to the growth it has now, because of the care he gives to his guard dogs. The quality of the guard dogs which he purchases for his accounts surpassed anything that his competitors would offer. Anti social dogs that were basically a danger to the average person found a home with Chico because he had no fear of them. Housed, fed and given medical care when needed the dogs were not suppressed to “behave”.

By 2003 Chico began to buy out failing guard dog companies and provide the quality of services the competitor’s customers wanted but had not been getting. Rebuilding broken kennels, rescuing “junk yard dogs” and hanging large visible warning signs were the first steps to improving the image of the guard dog business. He hired employees with a background in dog handling, and a love for dogs.

We have a fleet of trucks which are maintained religiously to insure that employees make it to the locations on time everyday to secure the guard dogs before the businesses open. 

Chico answers all calls himself and is there to address any issues.
